Jupiter Traditional Martial Arts

Jupiter Community Center
200 Military Trail - Jupiter, Florida

Saturday 9-11 am; Monday 7-8:30 pm

The Jupiter Community Center is closed until further notice in response to the Corona Virus.

JTMA WILL continue to offer training sessions on Saturday's in an outdoor setting.  We will stay ever-vigilant with regards to cleanliness and hygeine, and treat eachother with the utmost respect. Safety will always be an important value in our martial arts education.

Jupiter Traditional Martial Arts in Jupiter, Florida has been offering high-quality training since 2008.  We are led by 6th Dan, Renshi Robert Neier and have over a dozen black belt level practitioners working out with us.

We focus on Matsubayashi Shorin-Ryu, but also study elements of Goju-Ryu, Shaolin Kung Fu, Aikido, Japanese Ju Jutsu, Shotokan and many other martial arts.

We do our best to "leave the ego at the door" and therefore can learn from each other at maximum capacity.

There are 19 katas, or forms, which we study in Matsubayashi Shorin-Ryu. They include:

  • Fukyugata Ichi, Ni, San
  • Naihanchi Shodan, Nidan, Sandan
  • Pinan Shodan, Nidan, Sandan, Yondan and Godan
  • Rohai, Passai, Anaku, Chinto, Gojushiho , Wanshu, Kusanku and  Wankan

With regular training and practice, one can expect to earn the invitation to test for black belt in 3-4 years. It is always up to the student and the amount they practice.

We are located at the Jupiter Community Center (behind the Jupiter Police Department), and practice in their dance room.  The address is:

Hours of Operation are Saturday mornings from 9 until 11 am and Monday evenings from 7 to 8:30 pm.

Currently, we are practicing Saturday mornings at Indian Creek Park, across from the Jupiter Golf Club on Central. This open air training will keep us safe and distanced during Covid-19.

  • This training is spot on! We need more of this! Thank you Howard Freedland!
